Author Zhao Xiaomin and Martin Palmer
Zhao Xiaomin is a leading interpreter of China’s religious and cultural past. He runs the ICOREC (International Consultancy on Religion, Education and Culture) office in Xian, and has co-authored many books with Martin Palmer. Zhao Xiaomin works closely with the Taoists in China as well as with many of the major museums. His training as a historian, and his practical work on religious projects such as the Sacred Mountains of China Preservation Project, gives him a unique insight into traditional Chinese religions and its practices. He is currently head of a new ICOREC project to create international travelling exhibitions of artefacts from the great museums and temples of China. These exhibitions will illustrate the religious history and development of China.

Martin Palmer studied Chinese in Hong Kong and at Cambridge University. He is a renowned world expert on Chinese religion, philosophy and culture and author of numerous successful books that have served to introduce Chinese folk religion and beliefs to a popular audience. His published titles include Three lives, T’ung Shu (The Chinese Almanac), Chinese Horoscopes, Elements of Taoism and a new translation of the classic text The Tao Te Ching. He is a director of the ICOREC.
